17th Jan .... Michael Walsh up for Park Hotel Sports Star of the year.

18th Jan.....Waterford go down by just one point to Limerick in controversial circumstances in McGrath Cup Semi-Final in Ardmore.  Niall Curran and John Coffey were our representatives on the team.

23rd Jan   Stradbally travel to Cardiff for weekend away.  Great time had by all.  The bar with the drink as much as you can for £10 stg were sorry to leave our contingent in.

End Jan....Draws for 2004 Senior Championships.  Ardmore in th football and Lismore in the hurling.

7th Feb.... Victory Social for Park Hotel with Sean Kelly, President of the GAA as special guest.

7th March Sun....Stradbally's competitive season opens with Sargent Cup hurling against Ballygunnar in Fenor at 2.30pm...see list of upcoming fixtures by selecting Fixtures button above.

16th April Fri...Stradbally defeat Ardmore by 1-09 to 1-06 in first defence of Conway Cup.  Young Liam O'Brien scores 1-04.  One for the future!

25th April Sun...Ladies go down to na Deise in Championship.

3rd May....Stradbally defeat Kilrossanty 1-10 to 1-05 in Senior Football League.

8th May....Under-16's unlucky losing by just one point in Western Football Final.

9th May...Stradbally defeat Fourmilwater 2-11 to 1-11 in Senior Hurling League.

9th May/16th May....Michael Walsh in action for Waterford in National League Final against Galway and first round of Munster Championship against Clare.

22nd May .....Stradbally bow out by 3-11 to 5-12 to Lismore in Senior Hurling Championship.  Our chairman gets a slap while acting as peacemaker in a fraca.  Hey Lismore "Leave our Bogue alone".

25th May....Senior Football League   Stradbally 4-08 Ardmore 0-09

Aug....Stradbally bow out to Roanmore in Senior Hurling Championship.

Sept....Stradbally defeat Ballinacourty in Senior Championship football Semi Final.

9th Oct....Reds defeat Ardmore by 10 points to seven.

25th Oct....County Final ends in stalemate against the Nire.

31st Oct.....Stradbally make no mistake second time out defeating The Nire by 2-08 to 1-04.

7th Nov.....Reds defeat Tipp Champs Loughmore/Castleiney in Fraher by 0-11 to 1-07 despite being down to 14 men for most of the match.

14th Nov....The national papers deem this a shock but we didn't.  We beat Bishopstown of Cork in Pairc Ui Rinn on a scoreline of 1-12 to 0-12.  Niall Curran is named man of the match.

15th Nov....Heffo makes his radio debut with Des Cahill on RTE.  Is there a contract in the pipeline!.

20th Nov....Minors go down to St Olivers in WEstern Final.

20th Nov...Night at the dogs in Kilcohan.

5th Dec....Munster Final ends in stalemate against Kilmurray/Ibrickane of Clare.  We were a point up with a couple of minutes left.  Kilmallock next Sunday.

12th Dec.....Stradbally 0-08 Kilmurray 0-09.  Despite been the best team on the pitch on the day,  it was not to be.  Our tour is over which began last February.  Roll on next year.  Well done to all the players and selectors for their massive committment.

16th Jan 05.....AGM held, positions remain as before.

23rd Jan.....Sean Kelly announces that Sin Bin is scrapped.....sigh of relief from some of our players.

4-7th Feb.....Team and officials head for weekend to Amsterdam.....Head to a "coffee shop" for a strong "cup of coffee"

31st Jan.....draw for Senior Championship made....Rathgormack opponents in Football and Roanmore in Hurling.

27th Feb.....2004 league match home to Rathgormack....defeated by a few points.

20th Mar....Under-16's lose to Dungarvan.....we may not make playoffs as we have already lost to the Nire.

20th March.....Stradbally lose to Tramore in Fenor in 2004 League Football Semi-Final.....game drawn previous Sunday.

27th March.....Reds open League campaign with one point win over Gaultier.

8th April....Defeat away to Clashmore in Football League.

9th April....Home win over Horesbridge of Wexford in Senior Football Challenge.

10th April....Under-16's crash to BAllinacourty at home.  We are now out of contention but well done to all the lads to gave 100% to the cause over the past number of games.

15th April.....Senior Football Championship 1st round...Stradbally 2-05 Rathgormack 1-06

29th April.....Stradbally destroy Roanmore by 2-09 to 0-03 in first round of Senior Championship.

2nd May .....Heavy defeat for Under-21 footballers to Clashmore in Ardmore....0-15 to 0-03

3nd May...Quarter Final championship draw made....Ardmore or Clashmore in football and De La Salle in the Hurling.

8th May....Stradbally go down to Tallow in Junior Hurling played at Cappoquin

June/July...Annual unnecessary hold up of senior championships. No action!!!!!

End July....50000 euro awarded to club for floodlighting from the Dept of Sport from the National Lottery funds.ro

7th Aug....Stradbally defeat Clashmore by 10 points to 1-4 to reach last eight of championsip.

20th Aug....Hurlers defeat De La Salle on a scoreline of 1-19 to 2-12 to reach quarters.

26th Aug...Junior Footballers defeat Modeligo to reach last four of Western championship.

4th Sept....Seniors Footballers defeat BAllinacourty by 7 points to 4 in County Quarter Final and get Gaultier to county semi..

7th Sept...Minor Hurlers defeated by Ballyduff in Western Semi Final after a string of impressive results.

11th Sept ....Junior Footballers in WEstern Semi.

16th Sept....Senior Hurlers draw with Lismore in County Hurling Quarter Final.

24th Sept....Big loss by 2-15 to 0-05 in relpay against Lismore....John Coffey badly injured.

15th Oct....Ladies take on Ballysaggart in county semi final.

16th Oct.....Ladies in 7 a side county final against Abbeyside in Lemybrien at 11AM.

22nd Oct....Junior Footballers defeat Lismore in Western Final by 1-12 to 3-4.  Losing by six points with seven minutes left on the clock.  The introduction of Christopher Lawlor turned the game with great goal.

23rd Oct....Senior Footballers defeat Gaultier in hard fought encourter.  Gaultier came close but experience won it in the end for us on a score of 1-10 to 0-11.

13rd Nov....County Final - Stradbally 0-06 Nire 0-06.  Must meet again next week.

19th Nov....Stradbally defeat the Nire to achieve five in a row county titles.  1-08 to 1-04.  John Hearne goals in final minute but we had it in the bag at that stage.  Fair dues to the Nire who always give us a great game and then we take the Conway Cup back home.

26th Nov....Night at the dogs in Kilcohan Park.  Buy your tickets and nominations now.

27th Nov....Munster Semi-Final defeat for depleted Stradbally side by Nemo Rangers on a score line of 1-14 to 0-10.  Niall Curran scores nine points!

3th Dec......Massive dissappointment for Juniors with Portlaw scoring a last second free to win on a score line of 1-07 to 0-09 in County Junior Final. 


NEW ROLLS 2006

8th Jan 2006.....AGM...no changes.

20th Jan 2006......Group of over 50 head to Barcelona for long weekend.

21st & 29th Apr.....Reds defeat Ring and St Saviours in new look Senior Football Championship and go straight into Quater Final which will not be played for 6 months despite it being the best summer in a decade.

Early May.....County Champions Ballygunnar disposed of by five points by rampant Reds.

Rest of May...No Action despite the great weather.

June....No Action despite the great weather.

July.....No Action despite the great weather.

August....No Action despite the great weather.

Most of Sept....No Action despite the great weather.

Sept/Oct....Roanmore defeated by Two points to put Stradbally into Senior Hurling Quater Final.....Reds defeat the ever expectant Abbeyside to claim a semi final place.....End of road for Stradbally as Mount Sion's experience and guile defeat us by eight points which even Mount Sion would agree flattered them as they only added to their win in last five minutes.  Still a great run by a team who were told a few years ago by a chairman of a Hurling "Superpower" to "stick to the big ball".  Incidently we beat his team this year by a nice margin.  The wheel always turns.

8th Nov....Juniors beat Lismore in Stradbally under lights to reach Western Final.

18th Nov....Minors become County Football A champions with win over Gaultier in replay of Final at Walsh Park...well done to them.

25th Nov....Juniors defeat Ballinacourty on a scoreline of 2-05 to 1-07 to reach County Final(poor ould Ballinacourty, they're not having much luck with us this year)

9th Dec....Reds defeat Tramore by 1-10 to 0-03 in Fenor under astrocious conditions to claim county junior cup
