Stradbally GAA is an an integral part of the community throughout its existence and the old photos available here give a glimpse of times gone by and record some of players who have represented Stradbally.
Stradbally GAA club was formed in October 1886. At that time football or hurling were not the main sports of the GAA but athletics was the main activity. However a football team was formed in Stradbally in November 1886 with an enrollment of 40. players.
The Gaelic Athletic Association was formed in Thurles in 1884 with a branch in Waterford City being formed in 1885 and Stradbally branch in 1886

Senior Men beat Ballinameela in Senior Football quater final by 1-13 to 1-03

Ladies fall at final hurdle in Intermediate Final losing by the narrowiest of margins to St. Annes. What a massive achievement having been Junior B only three years ago and now just a whisker away from Senior.

Juniors footballers beaten by Kilrossanty in Western Junior Final.
Aug 31st
Seniors footballers defeat Kilrossanty in final group game. Both teams already qualified for quarter finals.
July 19th
Victory by a goal margin over Clashmore gives reds three wins in a row in Senior Championship. Next up is Ardmore on Thursday, 25th July.
